Though I’ve always loved creating, painting has been a second-half-of-life discovery. It began as an inner-revolt against the constant need for words. It became an entirely new way of seeing and experiencing the world. I’m now delighted to get to share that vision with others through my work.
My art is an attempt at connection–to myself and to the world around me. My subjects often reflect what I am drawn to at any particular moment, which is why many center on issues of justice and the heart. I am increasingly drawn to the raw emotion and play available in abstraction.
